Adopter agrees to:

(1) care for the animal in the most humane manner;

(2) keep the animal as a household pet in my own home;

(3) provide adequate food, water, shelter, supplies, care, affection and attention for the animal;

(4) promptly obtain veterinary care if the animal has an ailment, injury or illness;

(5) not allow the animal to be intensively bred, to be bred before the age of 1 year, to be bred if adult weight is below 500g, to be pelted, to be bred for the purpose of pelting its offspring, or to be used for animal research, vivisection nor in any inhumane way;

(6) not abandon, dispose of, turn over to or relinquish custody or possession of the animal except to return the animal to the breeder ; I understands that the breeder offers fair compensation for the return of the animal, but not necessarily 100% of the original purchase price;

(7) not sell or give away the animal without written consent and approval of the breeder;

(8) promptly notify the breeder of any genetically governed health problems which may arise for the purpose of breeder’s record keeping and maintaining responsible breeding practices;

(9) notify breeder of any change of contact information, including address, phone number, and e-mail. This will make it possible for the breeder to contact adopter if needed.

Breeder agrees to:

(1) accept the animal back for any reason and care for the animal for the rest of the animal’s natural life, or adopt the animal to another adopter with the same terms as this adoption;

(2) remain available to the Adopter for ongoing advice as needed regarding the animal;

(3) promptly notify Adopter of any genetically related illnesses which may arise in any chinchillas genetically related to the animal.
